Family Medicine

I completed medical school and Family Medicine residency at Radbound University Nijmegen in a small town in eastern Holland. After residency, I practiced Family Medicine between the United States and Holland for a few years with the goal of permanently moving to the United States. I completed an additional Family Medicine residency with an emphasis in rural health at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Scottsbluff, Nebraska.

I practiced community health in Nebraska for five years following my residency there. My husband and I love the outdoors and the beauty of the Black Hills, so we moved here in 2008 and I began practice with Community Health Center of the Black Hills. I joined Rapid City Medical Center’s Family Medicine Department in 2017 and practice at the South Clinic alongside Dr. Michael Goodhope and Dr. Jamie Schaeffer.

I enjoy providing multigenerational care because it allows me to build relationships with my patients and their families as I follow them through their stages of life. Within Family Medicine, I am especially interested in diabetes management and women’s health.
